Boro Batch Sunset Frit is borosilicate color glass that has been melted, crushed, and screened into small frit for consistent particle size and predictable melt-in behavior. Sunset is a striking orange color designed to develop warm reds and oranges in the flame, and it is described as a creamy color to work with. Small frit is chosen when you want more even coverage than large frit, with better control for gradients, soft transitions, and clean surface application on beads, pendants, small sculpture, and blown components.
How it is used:
Heat your base borosilicate piece until the surface is tacky, then roll or lightly press the hot glass into the frit. Gently reheat to melt the frit in without boiling the surface, then add additional light applications to build saturation. To bring out the strongest reds and oranges, work in a neutral flame and use controlled heat cycles to strike the color, allowing it to develop as you reheat and cool slightly between passes.
