Description:
Double Helix Chloe Rod is a green, speckled luster glass rod made for 104 COE lampworking. The speckling comes from thousands of refractive inclusions dispersed throughout the glass. When the glass is worked in a reducing flame and then encased, it can develop a textured mother-of-pearl effect.
How it is used:
This rod is used in soft glass lampworking when you want a surface with visual depth and a reactive luster character. Work the glass to shape, then introduce reduction flame chemistry to bring up the luster effect. Encase the reduced surface when you want to preserve the reaction and build a layered, mother-of-pearl look in beads, small sculptural work, and other 104 COE components.
