Fairy Dust is high temperature flakes made to refract light with a dichroic-like look when melted into hot glass. It is packaged in a jar containing 1.5 grams of material, with particle sizes ranging from 100–2000µ. The White Widow colorway is described as refracting shimmering reds and greens. These flakes are compatible with 104 COE, 96 COE, and 33 COE glass, making them useful for adding bright, shifting sparkle to beads, pendants, and small sculptural details.
How it is used:
Apply Fairy Dust to hot glass as a surface effect or as an inclusion that will be melted in and optionally encased. Warm the glass until it is tacky, then roll or lightly press the surface into a small pile of flakes. Melt the flakes in smoothly using a neutral flame, keeping the heat even so the effect stays clean and vibrant. Use light applications for subtle shimmer, or build in layers and encase for a deeper, more dimensional look and better wear resistance on jewelry.
