Mercury Relays are standardYou will be glad mercury relays are standard on this kiln especially when you are working under a deadline and need a reliable kiln. The mercury relays found on our large industrial kilns outlast mechanical relays. The life of the quiet, reliable mercury relay has been measured in millions of on/off cycles .Easy Maintenance The patented, control box on the Ovation-22 opens forward for easy maintenance. The box is hinged at the bottom. A folding support arm holds the box in the open position for your convenience. The control box is finished in durable high temperature, blue water-base paint. We chose water-base paint because of the low emissions during spraying. This creates a safer working environment for our employees and cuts down on pollution. If you have been firing a smaller kiln, you will be amazed at the space inside the Ovation-22. Fire large projects such as bowls or platters. Imagine how many mugs you could fire in the Ovation-22. As you can see, a few production loads can pay for this kiln.
Paragon’s warranty is not affected by frequency of use, of course. Fire your new kiln as often as you want, even in commercial or school settings. Frequency of use will have no effect on the warranty.
Spring-Assisted Lid
Patented dual spring-assisted lid lifters transfer the weight of the lid to a massive hinge assembly on the back of the kiln. This reduces the stress on the rear kiln wall to give your kiln the long life that Paragon kilns are famous for. The truss and floating lid system allow for expansion of the lid. Ask competitors if their lid spring system includes a floating lid.

Quality Components
A heavy galvanized steel base completely covers the reversible brick bottom. Tabs on the steel base fold up inside the stainless case on all sides to strengthen the firing chamber. This is one more assurance that your Paragon kiln is built to last.
Two kiln stands are included with your Ovation-22. The stands are complete with mar-proof plastic feet and tall enough to accommodate the optional Orton Vent Master under the kiln.
Wires are fastened to the elements with heat-dissipating connectors refined and proven over many years in Paragon kilns. Crimpless element connectors are easy to install and are included with replacement elements.
Made in America
And, of course, the Paragon Ovation-22 is made in the U.S. by skilled workers. Many of them have been with Paragon for over a decade. Our master kiln builders have been here even longer.
Digital temperature accuracy
The digital Sentry 2.0 includes two modes: Cone-Fire with programmed slow cooling and the fully customizable Ramp-Hold. It is manufactured by the Orton Ceramic Foundation for Paragon.
You will be amazed at the convenience of digital firing. The reliable solid-state Sentry controller continually monitors the firing so you can spend your time productively without closely watching the kiln. (Please remember, however, to check the kiln during firing and to monitor it near the expected shutoff time.) The sealed touch pad keeps out dust and is easy to wipe clean. The controller is mounted near the top of the switch box for easy operation. For your convenience, operating instructions are silk-screened onto the switch box.
The controller has powerful features that you will enjoy using. Yet we have also worked hard to make the controller user-friendly.
Do you ever wonder how much electricity your kiln uses? The digital controller can figure this for you with the press of a button. Find out how little a kiln actually costs to fire. Learn to conserve energy by experimenting with firing speed, load density, etc.
Precision thermocouple
The thermocouple senses temperature inside the kiln. It is the small rod that extends into the side of the firing chamber. The Ovation-22 comes with a thermocouple made with special-limit wire for superior accuracy. The new and improved thermocouple replaces our earlier sheathed thermocouple. The new thermocouple is made in America to our exacting standards.
240 or 208 volts
Most of Paragon’s standard 240 volt kilns can be ordered in 208 volts. To compensate for the lower voltage, Paragon’s 208 volt kilns use a different set of elements so they will perform as well as the equivalent 240 volt models. For this reason, the elements in 240 and 208 volt kilns, even for the same kiln model, are not interchangeable. So please be sure to specify the correct voltage when you order your kiln. By using different elements for different voltages, total watts consumed by different kiln versions remain the same. 240 and 208 kilns of the same model have the same maximum temperature rating.
