Description:
Kimble 8mm x 1.5mm Clear Tubing is clear borosilicate glass tubing manufactured to a 8 mm outside diameter with a 1.5 mm wall thickness. This tubing is supplied as straight, uniform-length glass tube stock intended for scientific glassblowing and lampworking fabrication where consistent wall thickness and diameter control are critical. In lampworking, this size is commonly chosen when you need a smaller diameter tube that can still be worked confidently without collapsing, making it useful for small components, connectors, and sections that will be joined to other tubing or rod. The 1.5 mm wall provides enough material for sealing, pulling points, and forming small transitions while still heating evenly in a bench torch flame.
How it is used:
- For cutting into shorter sections to fabricate small scientific components and lampworked assemblies
- For pulling down to smaller diameters to create stems, connectors, and drawn tubing sections
