Description:
Lime White is a borosilicate color rod formulated as a streaky white transparent. It is produced as solid rod stock for lampworking, so it can be heated and applied as wraps, gathers, or pulled down into stringer for controlled placement. This type of streaky transparent is used when you want movement and variation in the color rather than a perfectly uniform fill, giving finished work a lively, organic look that can read as soft white with shifting density depending on how thickly it is applied.
How it is used:
Use this rod in borosilicate lampworking for surface wraps, light casing, and decorative striping where you want the streaky character to show. For the most consistent transparency, work in a neutral to slightly oxidizing flame and avoid overcooking the glass, since extended high heat can soften the streak definition. Apply it over clear or a compatible base color, then shape and finish as normal, letting the streaking stretch and flow with your heatwork. It also pulls well into stringer for fine lines, scrollwork, and accent details that keep the streaky look when laid down with a light hand.
