BB SB Space Sparkle Mid is a Boro Batch small batch borosilicate color formulated for lampworking. Space Sparkle is a lighter blue with metallic sparkles, giving finished work a bright, airy blue base with a subtle glittering effect that catches highlights as the piece moves. This type of color is typically chosen when you want a decorative shimmer without fully obscuring form or internal detail, and because it is a small batch color it is produced in limited runs and can be difficult to replace once it is gone.
How it is used:
Use BB SB Space Sparkle Mid when you want a light blue color with visible sparkle for surface interest and depth.
Common lampworking uses include:
- Blown work such as small vessels, ornaments, and tubing-based forms where sparkle can read across curves
- Overlay work over clear to create a shimmering transparent-to-light effect
- Stringer accents and line work for glittering highlights and borders
- Backing or layering under clear encasement to amplify depth and keep the sparkle protected
For best handling, warm the glass in slowly and keep your heat even so the sparkle effect stays consistent across the section you are working.
