Sun Strike is a borosilicate color glass from the Boro Batch Small Batch line. It is supplied as solid lampworking stock intended to be melted in a torch flame and worked into finished components. Sun Strike is a striking red, chosen when you want a color that develops through heatwork and adds strong, warm red presence to borosilicate pieces.
How it is used:
Use this color as borosilicate rod for flameworking. Warm the glass in gently, bring it up to a workable heat, then apply it for wraps, dots, striping, and built-up detail. Because it is a striking color, use controlled heatwork to develop the final tone, then garage and anneal as you normally would for borosilicate. It is well-suited for beads, small sculptural elements, and surface decoration where you want a red that reads clearly after striking.
