The Major Surface Mix Top-Fire has, in addition to the larger surface mix "Major" portion, an additional smaller "Minor" burner mounted on top of the Major. Because of this, Nortel's Majors are commonly called Major Minors. Major torches are surface mix burners, but you have the choice between a premix or surface mix burner for the upper Minor assembly.
