Description:
This is Simax capillary tubing with an 8mm outside diameter and 2mm wall thickness, manufactured as thin-walled hollow stock for consistent internal dimensions. Capillary tubing is used in scientific glassblowing and lampworking when precise, repeatable inner bore size matters, such as in fluid handling paths, small condensers and adapters, and laboratory apparatus where consistent flow characteristics and accurate fit are required. The controlled wall thickness helps the tubing heat and seal predictably while still maintaining a stable bore during joins and seals.
How it is used:
- Warm and preheat gradually so the thin walls heat evenly and do not shock.
- Seal ends with controlled heat to avoid collapsing the bore.
- Join to other tubing and components with careful alignment to keep the capillary straight and maintain consistent internal geometry.
- Use for scientific builds and lab style assemblies where predictable inner dimensions are critical.
