Simax 9mm x 12mm Rectangular Rod is clear borosilicate rod manufactured in a rectangular profile for lampworking and scientific glass fabrication when you want flat faces and predictable geometry from the start. Rectangular rod is especially useful when you need parts to stay oriented during assembly, when you want a broader contact surface for clean tacks, or when you are building flat-sided structural elements that would be harder to keep consistent using round rod. The wider faces can make it easier to bridge between components and keep alignment true while you establish the first welds, which is helpful for fixtures, supports, and reinforced connections. This 9mm x 12mm size is a strong, medium-to-heavier rectangular stock that is well suited to structural ribs, pressed tabs, and reinforcement members where you want added stiffness without stepping up to much larger bar.

How it is used:

• Use to build flat-sided supports, ribs, and reinforcement members in borosilicate assemblies
• Tack and bridge between components where the flat faces help prevent rolling and twisting
• Heat and press to form thicker tabs, paddles, and mounting pads with consistent thickness
• Pull down and taper for custom transitions while keeping a flatter profile than round rod
