Description:
Spicy Pickle Striped Tubing is American-made, hand-pulled borosilicate color tubing with bold, lengthwise striping in light green, dark green, and red. This style of striped tubing is built by layering and pulling color over a clear tubing base so the stripes stay consistent down the length, giving you clean lines and strong visual movement once the tube is heated, shaped, and blown out.
It is commonly chosen in lampworking when you want fast, repeatable color patterning without having to build the stripe work yourself from rod. The stripe layout makes it especially useful for blown sections where the pattern can stretch and spiral as you expand the tubing, creating a lively “candy stripe” look in finished work.
Please note that not every piece of tubing weighs exactly 1 lb. Customers will be billed for the actual weight of the tubing shipped. How it is used:
- Cut a section to length, then heat evenly while rotating to prevent stripe distortion
- Blow out and shape for blown components such as small vessels, bubbles, ornaments, or decorative sections
- Use as a starting tube for sleeving work when you want stripes to carry through an overlay
- Stretch and twist while hot to create spiral striping effects before blowing out
- Attach to clear or color tubing for transitions, handles, or patterned sections in larger assemblies
