Description:
TAG Yellow Rod is a borosilicate color glass rod. It is produced as solid rod stock that is designed to be worked directly in a torch flame for shaping, color application, and decorative detail. Yellow is commonly chosen when you need a bright, high visibility accent color that reads clearly in both thin stringer lines and heavier applications such as wraps, dots, and overlays. In lampworking it is used for beads, pendants, marbles, small vessels, and sculptural work where a clean, saturated yellow can be applied over clear or layered with other compatible 33 COE colors to build depth, pattern, and contrast.
How it is used:
- Warm the rod gradually and bring the tip to a molten gather in a neutral to slightly oxidizing flame
- Apply the molten glass as dots, stripes, or wraps over clear borosilicate for strong color contrast
- Pull the gather into stringer for fine line work, scrollwork, and detailed surface patterning
- Use as an overlay color for layered builds, then shape and smooth to the final form
- Anneal finished work on a proper borosilicate schedule to relieve stress and improve durability
