Devardi Rod - Transparent Orange is a transparent soft glass rod intended for 104 COE lampworking and beadmaking. It is manufactured as colored glass that is melted, refined, and drawn into rod form so it can be introduced to the flame in controlled amounts. Transparent orange is typically used when you want a bright, warm color that still allows light to pass through, which helps maintain depth in layered work, encased designs, and clean transparent color applications.
How it is used:
Rod glass is used as the primary material for building beads, small sculptural forms, and decorative components. Warm the rod gradually in the outer flame to reduce thermal shock, then bring the tip to a working temperature and apply it to the piece as wraps, gathers, or layered applications. Transparent orange is commonly chosen for bright accents, warm overlays, and transparent color layers that can be intensified by adding thickness or softened by using it as a thin casing layer over lighter colors.
