Devardi Frit - Transparent Yellow is transparent yellow glass that has been crushed and screened into small, workable grains for lampworking. It is manufactured as frit so you can apply bright color quickly and evenly without needing to melt in a full rod, which makes it useful for surface decoration, smooth blends, and layered transparent color work. Transparent yellow is used when you want a warm, glowing tone with excellent light transmission, making it a strong choice for golden gradients, bright accent color, and building luminous depth over clear or other transparent colors.
Place a small amount of frit into a clean frit tray or dish and keep it free of dust and mixed colors. Warm the glass you want to color until it is slightly tacky, then roll or press the hot glass into the frit to pick up an even layer. Melt the frit in slowly with a neutral flame while rotating continuously so the grains fuse smoothly and the surface evens out. Repeat the application if you want a deeper, richer yellow, then continue shaping. If you plan to encase, fully melt and smooth the frit layer first to reduce trapped texture and bubbles.
