Double Helix Oracle Black

Double Helix Oracle Black is a specialty lampworking color glass formulated with unconventional approaches to glass chemistry using low toxicity ingredients. This glass has smooth working characteristics and reads darker than many existing black glasses without excessive spreading. It can be worked very hot without boiling. The glass is made in the USA without Antimony, Arsenic, Cadmium, Chromium, Lead, Nickel, or Selenium. The rods appear blue in their raw state but strike to black during the annealing cycle. Oracle Black stays neutral when paired with striking colors but reacts beautifully to luster colors.
Use this glass for lampworked beads, sculptural elements, and decorative work where a deep, true black is desired. The smooth working characteristics make it ideal for both detailed work and larger sculptural pieces. Work it at high temperatures without fear of boiling, and plan for proper annealing to achieve the full black strike. It pairs well with striking and luster colors for creating contrast and special effects in your designs.
