This is a pre-mixed frit blend packaged in a 2 oz jar. It is a mix of transparent and opaque frit in tones of turquoise, sky and water blue, lapis, and aqua, with a small amount of ivory included for added visual warmth and reaction potential. Frit blends like this are made by combining multiple compatible colors and opacities so you can get layered, variegated surface color without having to mix your own. This blend is designed for soft glass work and is noted to react well with silver, making it useful when you want additional surface interest and color shifts from silver-bearing techniques.
Use this frit blend to add multi-tone blue and aqua surface color to beads, small sculptures, and decorative components. Apply it by rolling a hot gather in frit, sprinkling frit onto the heated surface, or pressing the hot glass into the frit in a tray, then melt it in smoothly for a glossy finish or leave it slightly raised for more texture. Because it reacts well with silver, it is a strong choice for silver glass techniques and for designs where you want reactive lines, halos, or subtle color development when silver is introduced.
