Moretti Lemon Yellow Dark Frit is crushed Italian soft glass in a lemon-yellow shade. It is manufactured by breaking compatible color glass into small, irregular granules so you can apply color quickly and evenly without pulling stringers or switching to a full rod application. This frit is used in lampworking when you want fast color coverage, speckled or organic surface effects, or layered color builds that can be melted smooth for a solid look.
How it is used:
- Warm the end of a clear or colored gather in the flame until it is tacky.
- Roll or dip the hot glass into frit to pick up an even coating.
- Gently reheat to tack down the grains, then melt in fully for a smooth layer or leave partially raised for texture.
- Use in layers by applying frit, melting in, then repeating to deepen opacity and saturation.
