Moretti Yellow Dark is a deeper, richer yellow soft-glass color from Effetre, supplied as straight pulled rods for consistent heating and predictable handling at the torch. Compared to brighter lemon and acid yellows, this darker yellow is often chosen when you want a warmer, more grounded yellow that reads strong without looking fluorescent.
In lampworking, rods like this are commonly used for bead bases, sculptural components, and bold design elements where you want opaque color coverage and clear contrast against blues, purples, blacks, and many transparent overlays. The rod format feeds smoothly into the flame for building gathers, pulling stringer for detail work, and applying controlled lines and dots for patterning.
How it is used:
- Heat the rod end evenly and build a gather for winding onto a mandrel for beads.
