The Moretti Mudslide Effetre Glass Rod is a soft glass color rod pulled to a working diameter range that’s well-suited to everyday torchwork. It’s used when you want consistent color application and predictable handling for beadmaking and other lampworking tasks where you’re building forms, adding wraps, or laying down surface decoration. Supplied as a solid glass rod, it’s designed to be introduced directly into the flame and worked into gathers, stringer pulls, or applied as wraps and dots depending on the look you’re after.
How it is used:
- Warm the rod gradually in the far flame to prevent thermal shock, then bring it into a neutral working flame.
- Build a gather and apply glass to a mandrel for beads, or apply wraps and dots over a base color.
- Pull stringers from a small gather when you need finer linework and detail.
- Use as an accent or primary color in sculptural soft-glass components where a rod format is preferred.
