Description:
This is a medium-diameter rod of Moretti Effetre soft glass in a bright orange “special” color, produced as straight rod for smooth feeding and consistent heat control at the torch. It’s used in lampworking when you need a clean, saturated orange for bead bases, surface decoration, and small sculptural builds, especially for warm palettes where you want strong color presence without mixing or heavy layering.
How it is used:
- Pre-warm the rod slowly in the far flame, then bring it into a neutral flame to reach working temperature evenly.
- Wind onto a mandrel for bead cores, spacers, and layered bead designs that need a vivid orange foundation.
- Pull into stringer for fine trails, dots, and linework over compatible soft-glass colors.
- Use small gathers to add sculptural accents such as petals, flames, fruit tones, and warm highlights.
