Moretti Dark Pink Alabaster Effetre Glass Rod is a pulled, solid soft-glass color rod made for lampworking. It is manufactured as a continuous cane of colored glass that is cooled, cut into working lengths, and then melted at the torch so you can feed glass accurately into beads, small sculptures, and small blown components. This color is used when you want a rich dark pink tone with an alabaster character for base wraps, layered color work, floral and sculptural accents, and decorative surface applications that can be melted in smooth or left slightly raised for texture.
How it is used:
- Preheat the rod gradually in the outer flame to reduce thermal shock, then bring it into a stable working heat.
- Use the molten tip to apply a base wrap on a mandrel for beadmaking, then smooth and shape with controlled heat.
- Pull stringers for fine linework, scrolls, and crisp outlines on beads and small components.
- Add dots, bands, and layered overlays, then melt in fully for a smooth finish or keep the application slightly raised for tactile detail.
