This is an opaque Dark Gray soft glass frit made from Effetre glass that has been crushed and screened to a medium particle size for consistent application. It is packaged in a 2 oz jar and is exclusive to ABR Imagery. Opaque dark gray frit is used in 104 COE lampworking when you want solid, non-transparent coverage for bold lines, graphic contrast, and clean encased designs, since the opaque base helps reduce the look of smeared or washed-out pattern edges when you melt in and encase.
How it is used:
- Roll a warm bead or gather through frit to apply an even opaque layer, then melt in smoothly for solid coverage.
- Use as a base layer under transparent colors to add depth, mute brightness, and create more controlled color reads.
