Description:
Brilliantly Golden fine powdered iridescence is a fine decorative iridescent powder made for lampworking and glassblowing surface effects. Pixie Dust iridescence is constructed as a dry, finely milled powder that is applied to hot glass to highlight and accentuate focal areas of finished work. When used at the correct heat, the powder adheres to the surface and produces a bright gold iridescent finish that can be protected by applying a transparent protective coating after the application process. This product is sold in 28 gram increments.
How it is used:
- Heat your glass piece until it is red hot so the surface will accept the iridescent powder
- Lightly immerse the hot glass into the Pixie Dust powder or coat the surface with the powder
- Briefly anneal the piece while being careful not to overheat and burn the powder off
- Add a transparent protective coating after annealing to help seal and preserve the iridescent finish
- Use it to highlight raised details, edges, and focal points on beads, pendants, ornaments, and other sculptural work
