Description:
TAG Lake Geneva is a transparent medium-blue reducing color from Trautman Art Glass in 104 COE soft glass. In a reduction flame it can develop a bright, super-metallic surface, and with a slightly oxygenated reduction it can build a thicker, more opaque reduction layer. The reduced surface can be struck to shift and deepen the look, and it can also be encased to create a Mother of Pearl style effect. This is a color chosen when you want reactive blues that can push into greens and occasional purples depending on flame chemistry and heatwork.
How it is used:
- Work the rod in a neutral flame to shape your bead or component.
- Reduce the surface by turning down oxygen to bring up metallic effects.
- Adjust the reduction by adding a bit of oxygen if you want a thicker, more opaque reduction film.
- Strike after reduction to make the reduction layer more opaque and develop the color further.
- Encase over the reduced surface for Mother of Pearl style effects and added depth.
