Asian 16mm Light Cobalt Blue Tubing is heavily saturated transparent cobalt blue glass tubing made in China. It is manufactured as hollow tubing intended for flameworking work where you want the speed and efficiency of starting from tube rather than solid rod. The transparent light cobalt blue color is a strong, clean blue that reads bright and saturated, making it a solid choice when you want color with depth while still keeping the light transmission you expect from transparent tubing.
This tubing is commonly used by heating and rotating in the flame to collapse, seal, stretch, or blow into forms depending on the project. In lampworking it is especially useful for building blown sections, sleeves, and larger hollow components efficiently, since the hollow cross section lets you move volume quickly and control wall thickness as you shape. It is also a practical starting point for making colored blowouts, tubing pulls, and sections that will be joined into larger assemblies.
