Asian 25mm Opaque Black Tubing is opaque black borosilicate color tubing made in China and supplied in 4 ft lengths. Tubing is used when you need a hollow starting form with consistent diameter and wall for blown work, sleeving, and assembly, and opaque black is a go-to choice when you want strong contrast, crisp silhouettes, and a clean graphic look in finished pieces. In lampworking, black tubing is commonly selected for larger hollow builds because it lets you establish volume quickly while keeping the color even and the surface uniform.
This tubing is typically worked in a neutral to slightly oxidizing flame to keep the surface clean and reduce the chance of scumming. Use it as the main body tube for blown sections, larger hollow components, and production parts where repeatable size and consistent color coverage matter. It can also be sleeved over clear tubing to create a cased black layer, then shaped with controlled heat and steady blow pressure to maintain roundness. For seals and attachments, heat both parts evenly to avoid creating a cold ring at the joint, then anneal appropriately for durability and long-term stability.
