Asian 30mm Green Profile Tubing is colored borosilicate glass tubing made in a profile shape rather than a simple round tube. The green color is worked into the glass so the tubing stays consistent in appearance as it is heated, shaped, and sealed. Profile tubing is chosen when you want a built-in flat or shaped surface to control how the glass collapses, seals, or presents a face during fabrication.
This tubing is commonly used in borosilicate lampworking when you want more control than standard round tubing provides. The profile helps you keep a consistent orientation while heating, making it useful for clean seals, patterned sections, and components where alignment matters. Heat the working area evenly, rotate to keep the profile true, and use gentle pressure or tooling to encourage controlled collapse when forming joins, seals, or shaped transitions. It can also be used as a starting blank for custom sections where you want a defined face for later cutting, grinding, or coldworking.
