Asian 38mm Green Tubing is a heavily saturated, transparent green borosilicate color tubing made in China. It is produced as straight, consistent tubing intended for flameworking and lampworking applications where you want clean color coverage over a larger surface area than rod can provide. This tubing comes in 4 ft lengths and is sold by the piece, making it a practical choice for building larger hollow forms, pulling down into smaller diameter color tubing, or using as a sleeve over clear for strong, even color without striping.
How it is used:
This style of color tubing is most often used for hollow work in borosilicate. You can:
- Sleeve it over clear tubing to create a colored outer layer, then work it down into cups, bubblers, vessels, and other hollow forms while keeping the color even.
- Use sections as “color starts” for blowouts, where you want the piece to begin in color rather than adding color later.
- Heat and pull it down to smaller diameter tubing for more delicate hollow assemblies, keeping the same color family and saturation.
- Cut rings or short sections for collars, maria work, and decorative banding where a strong transparent green reads clean and bright under clear encasement.
