Asian 44mm Purple Tubing

Asian 44mm Purple Tubing is a Chinese-made borosilicate color tube supplied in straight 4 ft lengths and sold by the piece. This color is described as a lightly saturated transparent lavender purple, giving you a clean “see-through” purple that still reads clearly on larger work without going overly dark. In practical shop use, this is the kind of transparent purple you reach for when you want depth and glow in the wall, especially when backlit, while still being able to see internal lines, encased pattern, or wall thickness as you work.
This tubing is commonly used as a starting blank for large hollow builds. Cut a section, seal and inflate to form bodies, bulbs, and larger vessels, or sleeve it over clear to create a transparent purple outer wall before shaping and welding into an assembly. Because the color is transparent and lightly saturated, it is especially useful for work where you want the form to stay visually “open” and luminous, including larger sections that will be stretched, necked down, or joined where heavy saturation could otherwise read muddy.
