Jade Pink is an Asian color borosilicate tubing with a cloudy, milky appearance that is designed to develop and hold its color best when it is worked gently. This tubing is produced in 4 foot lengths and is sized at 51mm outer diameter with a 4mm wall. The color is formulated to be heat sensitive, so it rewards controlled temperature management and steady, even heating during forming. In larger diameter tubing like this, the milky jade character reads as a soft, dense pink that can be used as a body color on its own or as a base for surface work and overlays.
This size of colored tubing is chosen when you want to build larger hollow forms and components that carry color through the wall rather than relying on surface application. In lampworking, 51mm tubing is commonly used for big vessels, large sculptural bodies, and any work where you want a substantial diameter to start from before shaping, stretching, and necking down. Because Jade Pink prefers a soft flame to maintain its color, it is best introduced to heat gradually and kept out of harsh, oxygen-heavy flame chemistry that can wash the tone out. Once evenly heated, it can be blown, opened, and tooled like other boro tubing, and it pairs well with clear encasement, fuming, and complementary opaque accents when you want the jade pink to stay clean and even.
