Origin Blush Pink Frit in the S size is a colored glass frit that has been crushed and screened to a consistent small particle range. Frit is used in lampworking when you want quick, controllable color application without switching to multiple rods or pulling stringers, and it is especially useful for building soft, even color fields, speckling, and layered surface effects. The small grade is a good middle ground that gives more texture and visual breakup than fine frit while still melting in smoothly for clean finishes on beads, small sculptural work, and blown details.
How it is used:
- Warm the frit in a kiln-safe dish or keep it near the torch to reduce shock and improve consistent pickup.
- Roll a warm bead or gather through the frit, or press the hot glass into the frit to apply color where you want it.
- Melt the frit in slowly, rotating evenly to keep the layer uniform and to avoid trapping bubbles.
- Lightly encase with clear glass after it is melted in if you want a smoother surface and added depth.
- Layer over a base color or combine with other frit sizes to create gradients, mottling, and controlled patterning.
