Origin Bright White Bars are colored glass bar stock made for flameworking and other torch-based glasswork. Bar stock gives you a larger cross section than typical rod, which makes it useful when you need a stronger gather for bold white coverage, clean linework, or small sculptural additions. Bright white is commonly chosen for high-contrast design work, crisp backing layers under transparent colors, and strong highlights where you want the white to read clearly without looking washed out.
How it is used:
- Warm the bar gradually in the back of the flame to reduce thermal shock, then bring it forward to a working heat.
- Gather a small amount of molten white on the end of the bar and apply it for dots, stripes, wraps, and solid color blocks.
- Use it as a base layer under transparent or lightly tinted colors when you want the overlay color to appear brighter and more saturated.
- Add bright white as highlights and graphic accents, then marver and shape as needed before continuing your build or encasing.
