Origin Kelly Green Frit in size L is a crushed glass color frit used for flameworking and other kiln-formed glass techniques. It is manufactured by breaking compatible colored glass into graded particle sizes, then screening it so you get a consistent “large” frit size. Kelly Green is used when you want bold, saturated green color application with a granular texture, or when you want to build layered color effects by rolling hot glass in frit and then melting it in smooth.
How it is used:
- Heat the base glass until it has an even, tacky surface, then roll or dab the hot area into a frit tray to pick up Kelly Green frit.
- Melt the frit in gently to avoid trapping excessive air, then continue heating until the surface is as textured or as smooth as you want.
- Use as a base layer under clear for depth, or combine with other frit colors for mottling, transitions, and organic patterning.
- For fusing and kiln work, frit can be sprinkled into molds or onto sheet glass for color placement and surface texture.
