Origin Lazuli Blue Frit (F) is a lampworking color frit made by crushing compatible color glass into small, irregular granules. This frit is used when you want to introduce Lazuli Blue color as surface decoration, light texture, or as a base layer that can be melted in and then shaped, encased, or further decorated. Frit is especially useful for even color distribution without pulling stringers or switching to solid rod, and it is commonly used for beads, pendants, small sculptural work, and blown components made at the torch.
How it is used:
- Warm the piece you are working on until the surface is slightly tacky, then roll or dab the hot glass into the frit to pick up an even coating.
- Gently reheat to tack the frit in place, then melt it smooth for a clean surface or leave it slightly raised for texture.
- Use frit as a spot accent, a gradient, or a full base coat before adding stringer linework, dots, or encasement.
- For cleaner results, work in thin layers and melt in gradually to reduce trapping air and to keep the application even.
