Simax clear tubing is precision-drawn clear glass tubing supplied in straight lengths for scientific and artistic lampworking. This tubing is commonly used when you need consistent wall thickness for clean seals, blowouts, and assemblies where uniform heating and predictable movement matter. It is a solid choice for making small vessels, adapters, and components that require clarity and dimensional consistency.
How it is used:
- Cut a section to length, then fire-polish the cut ends to remove sharp edges and reduce checking.
- Heat evenly while rotating to keep the wall thickness uniform as the glass softens.
- Use for blowouts, seals, and tube-to-tube joins where consistent wall thickness helps maintain alignment.
- Anneal finished work on an appropriate cycle for the glass type and wall thickness.
