Simax 6mm x 8mm Rectangular Rod is clear borosilicate rod produced in a rectangular profile for lampworking and scientific glass fabrication when you want flat faces and controlled geometry right from the start. Rectangular rod is chosen when round rod is prone to rolling, when you need cleaner alignment during assembly, or when you want to build flat-sided details that stay consistent as you work. The broad faces give you more contact area for tacking and bridging, which can help keep joints stable while you bring the rest of an assembly up to temperature. This size is a versatile everyday rectangular stock for small-to-medium structural work, pressed tabs and paddles, and reinforcement ribs where you want strength without excessive bulk.

How it is used:

• Use to make flat-sided supports, ribs, and reinforcement members
• Heat and press to form paddles, tabs, and small mounting pads with consistent thickness
• Tack and bridge between components where flat faces help keep parts aligned
