Description:
This is Simax clear rectangular rod, manufactured as solid stock with a rectangular cross section for consistent edges and flat faces. Rectangular rod is commonly used in lampworking and scientific glassblowing when you want a flat surface, a crisp corner, or a controlled geometry that round rod does not provide. It is especially useful for building and reinforcing components, creating paddles and flats, pulling consistent rectangular stringer, and forming shaped details where a flat face helps with alignment, stacking, or creating clean transitions.
How it is used:
- Preheat gradually and work in a neutral flame to keep the corners from overheating faster than the flat faces.
- Use the flat faces as a built-in marver surface for controlled shaping and crisp geometry.
- Pull into rectangular stringer for sharp linework, edging, or structured design elements.
- Use as reinforcement or structural stock when you need flat contact surfaces for stable joins.
