Simax 25.4mm x 2.4mm Amber Tubing is precision-manufactured borosilicate color tubing made for flameworking and scientific glass applications where consistent wall thickness and predictable working characteristics matter. The amber coloration is built into the glass itself, giving you a durable, through-color material that can be used for functional components, decorative accents, and assemblies where tinted tubing is preferred. With tubing this size, it’s commonly selected when you need a substantial outside diameter for sleeves, housings, or larger blown sections while still maintaining a workable wall thickness for sealing, shaping, and forming on the torch.
How it is used:
- Cut to length, fire-polish the ends, and use as a starting tube for blown forms or larger hollow components
- Heat and shape for sections that require a larger outside diameter such as sleeves, collars, or outer jackets
- Join to compatible borosilicate tubing or fittings using standard tube-to-tube sealing techniques
- Use the amber color as a visual identifier, light-filtering element, or design accent in finished work
