Description:
This set includes three pre-cut dichroic glass strips sized for quick, repeatable accent work in flameworking and kilnformed projects. Each strip is made from dichroic-coated sheet glass and comes in a Blue Gold coating on 33 COE sheet glass, giving you strong color-shift sparkle without needing to score and break full sheets. Precut strips are especially useful when you want consistent inlay sizes for pendants, beads, small tiles, and layered components, or when you are building up geometric patterns and want your dichro pieces to fit cleanly with minimal coldwork. Because dichroic coatings are a thin surface layer, these strips are typically handled with clean tools and placed so the coated face ends up where you want the reflective effect to show in the finished piece.
How it is used:
- Select a strip and plan the placement so the coated face presents the effect you want in the finished work.
- Warm and tack the strip into position for lampworked applications, using controlled heat to avoid shocking the glass.
- For kilnformed work, layer the strip into your stack or design and fire according to the sheet glass COE and your project schedule.
- Use light coldworking as needed after firing to refine edges and bring the piece to final finish.
