The iridized coating is stable in the flame and does not require special handling during heating.
How it is used:
Boro Crow Grey Iridized Tubing must be sleeved and encased to be worked properly. The tubing should be wrapped with clear borosilicate glass or enclosed within a larger glass form to protect the iridized coating and allow the color effects to show through the surrounding glass. Heat the tubing gently and evenly, then shape and form it as you would standard borosilicate tubing. The iridized surface will display its full color range as light passes through the encasing glass, creating striking dichroic-like effects in your finished work.
