Inside dimensions: 14.5″ x 14.5″ wide x 6″ deep, fires to 1700°F
The square 14″ glass kiln is built with ample space for large 10″ pieces. Glass-firing kilns are used for fusing and forming glass shapes through slumping, raking, and combing, and can also be used for firing precious metal clay jewelry and other low-fire heat-treating.
The Square 146GFE is equipped with a lid element for the fusing segment of the glass firing and a body element for the ramping-up, ramping-down, and annealing segments of the firing. A selector switch on the electrical box designates whether the lid or body element is to be heated during firing. One element is used at a time because of the limited 120-volt power. If the selector switch remains in the neutral position, neither element will heat.
Models come equipped with a pilot light, an 18″ tall metal stand, a stainless steel jacket, and a Bartlett Instruments KilnStar digital controller.
Upgrade to the Genesis touchscreen controller for more ramp-hold user programs and additional features, including delay start, preheat, skip step, and more, for precise firings every time. Messages and information are available for reviewing a firing profile before or during the firing, and viewing the current segment the firing is in.
Options include the lid lift assist, which makes it easy to open and close heavy kiln lids, bead door, quartz glass viewing window, Type S thermocouple, vent, and more!
