Description:
The Paragon F200 is a front loading glass annealing kiln with a generous 25" W x 15" D x 8" H interior chamber, designed for serious lampworking artists and studios. Built with 3" firebrick insulation for excellent heat retention and stability, the F200 maintains precise temperature control up to 1700°F / 926°C. The kiln features a Sentinel TouchXpress controller with full programmability for up to 32 segments per firing program, allowing you to save and recall up to 12 different profiles. Available in side-fire, top-fire, or combined top and side-fire configurations, the F200 accommodates longer rods, larger marbles, multi-part assemblies, and collaborative studio work. Each kiln is handcrafted in Mesquite, Texas, with a durable steel case, built-in stand, and drop-switch safety that automatically shuts off heating elements when the door opens.
How it is used:
- Load larger glasswork, multiple punty rods, or extended annealing loads into the wide chamber with appropriate kiln furniture and clearance from walls and elements.
- Select the appropriate heating configuration: side-fire for uniform horizontal heat ideal for annealing rods and multiple small-to-medium pieces, top-fire for vertical radiant heat perfect for domed or surface-focused pieces like figurines, or top and side-fire for combined heat coverage on complex or stacked loads.
- Program the Sentinel TouchXpress controller with your firing schedule using up to 32 segments per program, or use Novice Mode to simplify setup for repeatable results with different types of glass.
- Run the firing cycle without opening the door during critical heating or cooling stages to maintain temperature stability and avoid stress fractures.
- Use the smooth cooling ramps enabled by the thick firebrick insulation to anneal work safely and prevent thermal shock.
- Allow the kiln to cool to a safe handling temperature before opening and removing work.
