Small Doughnut Marble Mold

Description:
The Small Doughnut Marble Mold is a graphite forming mold designed to shape a hot gather of glass into a small marble. The mold is machined from graphite so it can tolerate torch heat, resist sticking, and allow the glass to release cleanly once the surface is lightly warmed. This tool is used in lampworking when you want repeatable, consistent doughnut marbles for pendants, spacers, and small sculptural components where a centered hole and even outer diameter matter.
How it is used:
- Pre-warm the graphite mold near the edge of the flame to remove moisture and reduce thermal shock.
- Build a properly sized gather of molten glass on the end of a rod or punty.
- Place the gather into the mold and gently roll or press to establish the outer diameter.
- Reheat as needed and repeat short forming passes until the marble is even and centered.
- Finish by fire-polishing and refining the shape in the flame before annealing.
