Flames #1 Blasting Stencils is a single-use vinyl stencil sheet made for sandblasting or using as a paint mask on glass. It is built as a cut vinyl pattern with a water based adhesive backing, so it stays put during blasting and then releases cleanly when you soak it in water. The stencil includes an instructional sheet and is designed as a continuous flame pattern for repeating decoration around cups, vases, panels, ornaments, and other glasswork where you want a consistent border motif.
Clean and dry the glass so the stencil can bond evenly.
Apply the stencil to the glass and press it down firmly to seal the edges of the vinyl.
Sandblast or apply paint through the open areas of the pattern, keeping your blast angle controlled to reduce edge lift.
When finished, soak the piece in water until the water based adhesive releases, then peel away the vinyl and rinse the surface clean.
