Puzzle Piece #1 Blasting Stencils are single use vinyl sandblasting stencils designed to create a sharp edged puzzle piece pattern on glass. The stencil sheet uses a water based adhesive so it can be removed by soaking in water until it releases from the surface. These stencils are used in glasswork when you want clean, repeatable masked areas for sandblasting, which produces frosted texture, etched contrast, and crisp graphic patterning on finished pieces. The stencils include an instructional sheet, and there is a three sheet minimum purchase requirement that can be met by selecting three different designs.
How it is used:
- Clean and dry the glass surface so the stencil adhesive bonds evenly and seals the edges.
- Apply the stencil smoothly and press down firmly, especially along all pattern edges, to reduce undercutting during blasting.
- Sandblast over the exposed areas to frost the design while the vinyl protects the masked sections.
- After blasting, soak the piece in water until the stencil begins to release, then peel it away gently.
- Rinse and dry the glass to remove any remaining adhesive residue before final finishing or assembly.
