Description:
This is a transparent emerald pale green colored Effetre glass rod made for soft glass lampworking. It is manufactured as a straight, round rod with a consistent diameter so it heats evenly, gathers cleanly, and can be applied smoothly for controlled shaping at the torch. Emerald pale is a useful transparent green when you want a light, clean color that can be used for bead bases, overlays, and layered designs where you want depth and clarity rather than an opaque green look.
How it is used:
- Preheat the rod tip slowly in the outer flame, then bring it up to a working glow to form a gather.
- Wind molten glass onto a mandrel to build transparent bead bases, then shape and smooth while keeping the heat even.
- Pull stringers from a small gather for fine lines, vines, borders, and controlled transparent green accents.
- Layer over white or very light opaque cores for a soft green tint, or over darker greens and blues to shift the final tone while keeping transparency.
- Encase with clear to add optical depth and keep the green looking crisp and luminous in the finished piece.
