It is manufactured as a solid, round rod that is designed to be melted directly in a torch flame and worked into beads, small blown components, and sculptural details. A medium transparent green is a practical choice when you want a true green tone with good light transmission, making it especially useful for layered color builds, encasement work, and designs where you want green depth without going as dark as a deep transparent.
How it is used:
- Preheat the rod tip slowly in the outer flame, then move into a neutral working flame to begin melting.
- Wind molten glass onto a mandrel for beadmaking, then shape with marvers and hand tools to refine the bead profile.
- Pull stringer from the rod for fine lines, leaf and vine motifs, and controlled striping.
