Description:

The Aluminum Oxide Dressing Block is a solid aluminum oxide abrasive block made for dressing and restoring cutting performance on dull blades. It is used as a maintenance abrasive to refresh the working surface of blades that have glazed over or loaded up during use, helping them cut cleaner and more efficiently again. ABR notes restoration after approximately 10 square inches of sharpening.

How it is used:

This dressing block is used by bringing the block into controlled contact with the blade to abrade away buildup and expose fresh cutting surface. In glass and lapidary shops, it is a simple way to keep saw blades performing consistently when cutting glass, stone, or similar materials, especially when you notice slower cutting, increased heat, or reduced bite from the blade.
