Why and when it’s used in lampworking

Cross-action tweezers are used when you need a steady hold without having to continuously squeeze, which reduces hand fatigue during repetitive bench work. In lampworking they’re commonly used for holding small findings, pins, mandrels, thin sheet or foil accents, and small parts while you position them, tack them in, or let them cool. They’re also useful for grabbing hot bits from a marver area or kiln shelf when you want a light, precise grip rather than the heavier bite of standard pliers.
